About Jodie

Jodie's work begins in paint. Her pieces reflect her environment and inner world - often inspired by the ocean and its movement, aerial landscapes, and her world travels.
She paints what she's touched, lived with, and studied across continents.
Each painting can live on its own or become the origin point for textile designs.

Jodie brings fluidity and movement through the ocean-like textures and layers of each piece. With an interest in how colour impacts and improves mood,
Jodie creates with the goal to bring calmness or energy to a room where her art hangs.
Predominantly working with acrylics on canvas, Jodie creates Original artworks - No two of her paintings are the same. She also loves working with collectors and interior designers to create an original artwork or a textile design that is unique to them and their space.

BESPOKE TEXTILES

Every textile design starts with an original painting. Jodie translates her brushwork into layered, one-of-a-kind fabric patterns meant to be lived with — on furniture, through soft furnishings, and within the flow of a home. Each design carries the intention, color story, and emotion of the artwork it came from.

Jodie releases regular new designs to her JGH Textile Library as well as seasonal limited edition soft furnishing products. She works closely with interior designers create bespoke prints for specific projects.

"Painting and the Ocean are intrinsically linked for me.
It is about freedom and achieving a flow state. Its a lasting sense of happiness and contentment. My favourite memory as a child was floating on my back in the ocean.
My body weightless, the sound and feel of the waves and the sun on my face was my first experience of being in a flow state. I experience this every time I paint.
Like the ocean, painting meditates me. The movement and flow of the paint creates a healing sense of place and calmness. This is reflected in my work and the feeling it creates for my collectors"
